The University of Kentucky's ArtsAsia Festival breaks new ground this year with a two-day conference on Chinese art, design, film and architecture.

The University of Kentucky Department of Theatre will transport audiences to China in their opening production of the season, "The Monkey King: Havoc in Heaven." This family-friendly production will storm the Guignol Theatre stage Oct. 6-16.

The College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky has invited University of California, Irvine history professor, Asia Society associate fellow and bestselling author Jeffrey Wasserstrom to visit campus Sept. 19 and 20 for classroom visits, master classes and small group sessions with students and faculty.

The William T. Young Library got a jump start on the Year of China initiative when they hosted two librarians from China during the spring 2011 semester.

The librarians, Dr. Pi Jiezheng, Associate Professor and Director of Information Services and Kou Yuantao, Research Associate, Division of Digital Library Research and Development, spent four weeks in April at UK observing and sharing ideas with UK Library staff.
